For the last decade, I have been shooting a series called The American Experiment, an exploration of the ideals and icons that represent this country to the furthest ends of the earth. Bringing together images of our patriotic symbols, our vast and varied landscapes, and the tapestry of our humanity poses the question, in a time of heated debate: What does it mean to be an American?
